Mindful Monday
Every week on Monday, the last half of our day at work is blocked off on our calendar as "Mindful Mondays". This is a time to limit distractions, focus, and set the course for the rest of the week. Today, as I sit here on my lunch break getting ready to head into the afternoon, I am already struggling to stay focused and alert. I didn't sleep well last night and I am paying for it now. However, in order to try and combat this, I try to remind myself of the truths of God's word and rely on his strength in these moments. Someone shared the following in a small group at the church I attended in NC this past weekend, and it has been on my mind ever since. It talks about the power we have in the name of Jesus.
I hope it encourages you today.
"God has supplied us with everything we need in order to fulfill his calling. The power to transform hearts and change lives comes from: the Holy Spirit (John 6:63), through the Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16-17), and through prayer (James 5:16-20).
Through the Gospel, we are actually empowered to uproot the sin in our hearts and live in a way that pleases God. We have power in the name of Jesus."
In case you also need a praise break today, here is a video that I have had on repeat lately.
