4 Months and Counting

This past weekend I went to Spruce Pine, in the mountains of North Carolina for the Independence Day holiday. It was a great long weekend spent mostly with family, and a few brief reunions with some great friends. While I was there I spent some time driving around snapping some shots of the area that I grew up in. These shots were used for a guest blog post over at Abbey Deerest. 

One of the things I took shots of this past weekend were christmas tree farms. There are SO many christmas tree farms in that area. Spruce Pine is located in Mitchell County, and our neighbor to the North is Avery County. Together this area is affectionately known as the “Christmas Tree Capitol of the World”. Christmas trees are grown year round and shipped out by the thousands each fall to bring Christmas cheer to homes around the country.

Below are the photos of the christmas trees that I got this past weekend. Writing about these photos reminded me that we are only a little over 4 months away from the Christmas season. If you know me well at all, you know how much I enjoy and love celebrating the Christmas season. So in honor of the impending Christmas season, I have also included a classic song for your enjoyment!
