Marie on Monday | a portrait post

I am very grateful for my job. As some of you may know, I work for Liberty University as a course designer for their online program. I have been blessed with an amazing team that is quickly becoming more and more like a family every day. Some days I feel like I am way behind the curve in learning the many detailed aspects of the position I am in. However, my team is a constant source of support and encouragement, and I know they have my back.

Today, I get to introduce you to my co-worker and friend, Marie. One afternoon last week, we ventured downtown for an impromptu photo shoot after work. Marie is a native of New Jersey who loves to sing, paint, and play volleyball. She has a low tolerance for southern accents and she likes to win at everything. She was a teacher and volleyball coach before making her way to Lynchburg to discover a different pace of life.

When I asked her for a quote to accompany this post, her response was:

"We can put feeling in a prosthetic hand, but we still can't make all the popcorn kernels pop in the microwave....Come on peeps. It's 2014."
