It's snowing in Virginia in June?!

Nope. But now that you are here, you might as well stay and check out this post.

Yes. I am fully aware that we are halfway through the month of June, and the official start of the summer season is just around the corner. However, I am going to cool things down a bit by sharing a few shots from this past winter. Lynchburg was blessed with a few big snowfalls this past winter that were significant enough for the university I work for to close for both students and staff. 2/3 of my roommates work for the university as well, so these school closings were full on snow days for us. Our snow days consisted of sleeping in, pancake breakfasts, Netflix, naps, and a trek to Kroger in the midst of the actual snow storm (because....cereal).

Winter is tied with fall for my favorite season. My favorite parts of winter and fall are the transition stages of each. The slow fade of color from the leaves on trees, and the sudden realization that you need a jacket when you step out of the house first thing in the morning. Likewise, its these transition stages in life that I seem to thrive in as well. Whether its a new project at work or the process of moving across town, these changes excite me. However, change can be hard and life is tough sometimes, a lot of times actually. Even though I like the newness of an experience, it can be hard to part with the old.

The older I get, the more I have come to grips with the fact that life is a will continue to be series of seasons and changes. My goal is to continue to find the joy in the transition.
